Hi PhineasLJ

Feel free to reach out to me.
You can send me a PM to schedule a demo zoom call to discuss further.

Happy Learning 😊

PhineasLJ
Hi all,

Reaching out as I am nearing the end of my 6-week Manhattan Prep course for the Executive Assessment and looking for help or guidance on the Quant Section.

General background: Collectively, I've studied for the EA for about 3 months (took the course back in Summer 2023 before work got crazy). My overall goal is to get a 159-162 with a minimum of 14 on Quant in order to apply for a Full-Time 2-year MBA program.

Current situation: Took the official EA once so far and got a 154. I also tend to score between 153 and 156 on all of the Official EA practice exams (so scoring a 11 or 12 on the Quant section).

Main hang-ups are currently on Data Sufficiency, specifically with either (i) difficulty on knowing initial approach/strategy or (ii) execution of the problem within 2-2.5 minutes without doing a million Test Cases and calculations and burning the clock. My foundations are strong (fully understand FDPR rules, exponents, prime numbers, etc.), but when it comes to theory, testing numbers and using logic/reasoning I am immediately lost and freeze up on how to execute. This feels like an obstacle that keeps me from the 155s range on the EA (or high 600s range on the GMAT) and the high 150s/low 160s range on the EA (or over 700s on GMAT).

I'll read the explanations after getting a question wrong, but written help aside, I still have trouble fully grasping how to attack hard Quant questions and get them right. This may be because I'm a bit older (early 30s), but I am a very active and vocal learner and tend to do well learning with a professor/teacher/tutor rather than reading a static explanation (#1 fan of office hours in college - took me from B+s to A-s and As in math and finance courses).

With all of that said, does anyone have a recommended tutor for either in-person (NYC/Philly) or online that specializes in Quant/DS? I am fairly confident that my score will go up if I get the chance to interact with an intelligent expert to ask a million follow-up questions and will almost confidently improve on my strategies for Quant questions. Anything I'm seeing online is $300-500 a session, which seems high. Does anyone have a trusted Quant tutor near the lower end of this range? Or any good package deals that won't cost more than $2,000?

Thank you in advance!!

P.S. Failing a reasonably-priced tutor, if anyone has an interactive Data Sufficiency resource (book, YouTube, etc.) that they swear by and that has helped them in their EA/GMAT studying journey then please let me know! Anything over a standard written explanation always rules.
