Hi
naveenbriteYes.Pretty sad and depressed after seeing my scores. Got a
560(Q41 V27) .When I started the exam, the whole process from registering at the exam center to getting seated to my seat to be able to get a new writing scratch pad for each section was so mismanaged by the exam center admin, that I ended up wasting 4mins of my quant section. And even though I mentioned it to them how they should have given the scratch pad at least a minute before I start my section ,they could not do much about it.So I was pretty much rushed from the beginning in the quant section.I think I started off well in terms of accuracy though but as the questions got harder, the gap of my target timing to my actual timing widened and by the end of it I had to guess 4-5 questions. The lack of confidence as a result of this, trickled on my verbal section as well when the admin guy had to rub off my working from my scratch pad for me to use it for the verbal section because they didn't have any extra scratch pads.Basically it was annoying and frustrating on top of the pressure I was feeling because of my first time for any such test. But I guess it wouldn't be fair to do that blame game because I lacked confidence when I started off.
Having said that,it is shocking for me to now think about the variation of my scores from practice tests. Please see the details below:
Manhattan Practice test1(28th sept):510 (Q26 V31)
800Score(8th Nov):Q40 (there was no verbal section in the free test)
Barrons Practice test(8th Nov):610
Magoosh(9th Nov):Correct Q(15/18) & V(12/15)
GMAT prep test 1(10th Nov):590(Q41 V31)
Princeton Review test (11th Nov):600(Q46 V43)
GMAT prep test 2(13th Nov):600(Q47 V26)
Economist test (15th Nov):620 (Q45 V31)
Veritas test (16th Nov):700 (Q48 V38)
GMAT (18th Nov):560(Q41 V27)
Not sure what to derive and how to retrospect using all this info ,also partly because it was a horrible experience and I invested too much time(took a couple of weeks off from work).I was hoping to meet the second round of deadlines this year.I am failing to really understand if I need more time (as in more than 2 more months) to work on gmat or I should postpone the idea of applying to next year and give a better shot. Not sure what I should really do now.I would really appreciate some advice from you guys.
