there already is a forum for Emory F'09 .....

I haven't yet seen it. Do you have the link?

Got into Emory a month or so ago. Very impressed with the school.

I submitted for Round 1 and had my interview last weekend.

The interview was on campus with an alumn. It was only about 30 minutes since I had to make the info session right after. He asked the usual "why emory", "why mba" questions. He asked me a bit about my resume (job responsibilities, leadership at each company), and also asked me about my travelling (48 countries) and which country I liked best and why.

Very conversational. The interviewer was very nice and easy to talk to. Any more detail about it, just ask:)

Yea, I'm pretty sure there's not already an Emory 2009 thread.

Anyways, I interviewed a month or so ago with an adcom and it was very conversational. I'm interested in hearing how they're working through the new curriculum.

My interview couldn't have been more different. Also with an alumni. He gave me absolutely no non-verbal cues how I was doing. Additionally, he challenged me on my career goals as well as the definition of the word "intensity."

I think I upset him somehow, as he was not very pleasant towards me. Oh well...

What were your thoughts on Emory's super saturday extravaganza?

Because of my flight, I could only do the lunch and infosession. How was the rest of the day?

1. Glad to see this thread jumping.
2. I received a call from the AdCom that reviewed my file and was informed of admissions decision and scholarship (I nearly dropped the phone) by her. The scholarship info was included in the immediate follow-up email. And lastly, a UPS package came a few weeks later with a very handsome Emory branded leather folder containing paper copies of everything.
3. Super Saturday is okay, I wouldn't sweat missing it too much. I would have much preferred to sit in on an actual class, instead they trotted out a professor that I'm pretty sure was a student favorite. He covered some pretty basic material, but did it in a very engaging, humorous way. But that was only about 1/2 hour long, I would have been much more interested to see a full-length class buried somewhere in mid-term drudgery. Aside from that, the basics are covered including facilities tour, AdCom, FA, etc. The major advantage would be that there are a ton of students available to chat with. If you are able to go to a social event, I would do that. One thing I noticed about Emory is that everybody towed the line admirably, so if you find someone who seems more candid than usual, pump them for info. That's it, best of luck to everyone still applying/interviewing.

p.s. Ask someone there where the Pepsi machine is. It'll be hilarious, trust me.

I actually asked a current student in a direct manner. "Why don't I see any Pepsi's here?" He said they have a very close relationship with Coke and Coke treats them in a very special manner.I think Goizueta's wife is still on Emory's board.

Also ppl who went to super saturday might have noticed the terminal where Coke used to trade on NYSE in early 1900's.

My girlfriend graduated from Emory undergrad and this is what she told me.

1) Emory was originally funded by Coca Cola when it was founded.

2) All graduates receive a specially designed Coca Cola bottle with their class year during graduation.

3) Coca-Cola is a type of religion at Emory. Even Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and Islamic Militants overcome their differences and share this Coca-Cola bond....

4) Myth: If you are a current Coca Cola employee, you have an automatic admission to their program.

5) To this day, my gf won't let me have a Pepsi in my apartment. I gotta sneak it in and hide it under my bed and enjoy it when she's asleep.....

I actually asked a student are Pepsi recruiting in Goizueta, he said they don’t I wonder why …?
I was a Coca-cola "addict" during my bar exams so I believe that my grades will be good going to Coca cola sponsored school.
