- First create a table with the given values.
male female total registered 2400 unregistered total 1000 - Using this info and the first statement. take total unregistered users = x and total female becomes 2x.
Now, 1000+2x = 2400 + x. solving this we can find total current online users. - Using the second statement, I was unable to create an equation which can give me the current online users.
Hence, I choose answer as A.

Let,
number of online unregistered users = x
number of online female users = 2x
The total number of online users= Online registered males+Online registered females+Online unregistered users
So, statement 1 is not sufficient as 2400 = Online unregistered users+ x+ Online registered males
Now, among online users, 800 are male.
So, No. of females registered= 2400-800= 1600.
The number of online male users is part of the total, but without knowing how many males are unregistered or registered, we cannot calculate the total number of users.
So, statement 2 is also not sufficient.
But both together is sufficient.
1,000 male users
Let,
number of online unregistered users = x

Using the matrix method statement 1 provides us with sufficient information to compute the total number of users by using x as the total number of non registered users
From statement 1 we can form an equation 2400+X=1000+2X. We get X to be 1400 and the total to be 3800 hence S1 is sufficient
Statement 2 does not provide us with sufficient information
