2^12 + 2^12 + 2^12 + 2^12

a) 4^12
b) 2^14
c) 2^16
d) 4^16
e) 2^48

Factoring out the common 2^12 from each of the four terms, we have:

2^12(1 + 1 + 1 + 1)

2^12 x 4 = 2^12 x 2^2 = 2^14
