I'm wondering what kind of timing strategies you guys use on an individual question. I'm more curious about the quant side of things, but if you've got a verbal timing strategy then feel free to chime in. Basically my question is, if you are working on a problem, and you hit the 2 minute point, do you simply guess and move on, or do you keep at it for an extra minute or two? Of course, if you are ahead of pace, you can afford to do so, but say you are at a point in the test where you have taken on average 2ish minutes per question and you come to question number 26 (hypothetically). Would you give it a shot for 2 minutes and then just move on, or would you go past the 2 minute mark and risk falling behind schedule?
Basically the way I see it, when you come across a 2-minute+ quant question, you either (1) know you can get to the answer, but it'll take some time or (2) not know how to get to the answer, but you can give it a shot and possibly come up with the right answer or (3) don't even know where to begin.
For the last option, it seems like skipping it all together is a good choice, but what about for the other two? Is it worth spending an extra minute or two on a question with just the possibility of getting it correct?
