I agree with Fig. I will be starting the Chi GSB shortly. Initially I thought this sounded like a great idea to aid individuals putting together apps. It still seems like a good idea as a resource, but downloading essays??? That seems a bit crazy. My main concern would be ensuring that the information is only utilized as a resource and not plagerised or worse.

We have been talking about this very problem and thats why it is important to be very selective of who can access it. I would like to think people who have spent months on here and earn access would have the integrity to not steal information but there is always the possibility that it may happen if someone gets desperate. There are enough MBA applications books that if people want to steal work then there is enough material out there already to choose from. Anyone planning on taking the short cheap route will probably not put the effort into this site to get access.
Personally I think that after this year I will post some of my essays that were successful (hopefully some are) but I probably will not post the ones from the school I end up attending. As Fig stated I would not want to be expelled because someone took advantage of my generous help. Since I don't come from a typical background of people attending B-school and I didn't attend an ivy league college my essays are going to be very important so if they work then they will show next years applicants what essays can do for you.
Anyone who has materials for schools they were admitted to but are not attending please share that if you feel comfortable. The last thing I would want is for someone to take anything from another persons essays and submit them...and then have that cost the provider of the material their spot in school. So I think we all understand why people would not submit materials for the school they are attending. We also understand the very personal and sensitive nature of the essays so there is absolutely no pressure to submit anything.

Still in Galapagos, so writing briefly while stuck at an airport.... I can appreciate the concept, but has anyone validated that there are actually people willing to share their essays to the world from 07 ?
