2017-18 Round 1 Updates


First off BIG congratulations to all the admits. We had a great season with lots of ups and downs, successes and disappointments and new applications to look forward to. I wanted to take the time out to share some of the movements that we have seen in the GMAT Club decision tracker so far. Keep in mind that these R1 stats are of course not complete, as a lot of people update their stats later, some will get off waitlists and a lot will also move on different schools in R2 and then update.

From general observations, it looks like the sample of the R1 admits had actually significantly higher GMAT scores than last year's class averages. Take it with a grain of salt because GMATClub's users have generally higher than average GMAT scores, but man, these scores sure look really high. In top 10, Yale seems to be championing it's stats (predictably so) with an average of 740+ in the sample, while Wharton leads the pack with a CRAZY 750. Narenn and I will keep adding more stats and data points in the holiday week, so feel free to come back and check!

Decide Where to Matriculate


I have been lucky enough to be admitted to Chicago Booth (w/ good scholarship money, approx. 40% of full tuition) and to Yale SOM (w/ little scholarship money, approx. 15% of full tuition). I am currently hoping to be invited for interviews at Columbia Business School as well, so including this school is an exercise of wishful thinking.

Hi guys! The past one year has been a whirlwind for me... from the gut wrenching anxiety driven application deadlines to GMAT preps, but I am here now, going to Kellogg 2Y MBA this Fall. I'm super psyched to be in Evanston. DAK has been amazing and totally sold me to the program. I never thought this day would happen to me... to think I was just aiming for UC Irvine with a 550 a year ago is such a leap. I guess I'm almost a case of luck.
