Answer D was attractive to me, but the correct answer was B. Two questions below;
1. Why can D not be correct? 2. "are" would be reasonable, but in that sense, I think "the cause" should be changed into "the causes" as the reasons are plural. Any difference between the usage of "cause" and "causes" when it comes to nouns?
