Ignoring signs you get from GMAT prep and not following a process in GMAT can leave you in trouble. I started preparing for GMAT in May. Having been a topper in most of the other competitive exams, i found GMAT quantitative quite easy. I thought i could easily crack GMAT. Until late May, i was doing preparation haphazardly, studying whenever i get time off. However, in June when i gave my first mock, i realised that i could not sit in front of computer for 4 hours. Scored 470 in my first mock
.
Started serious preparation in july. I have created a schedule and cajoled myself to stick to it. By the end of July, I started to see the improvement in my performance. I was able to consistently score 51 in Quant but verbal was still a pain. At the end of July, in my first mock GMAT Prep test got 680
. Two days before my actual GMAT, I gave another GMAT prep test and registered Q49,V32 with 660. But, my worst nightmares have come true, I ended up scoring 640 in my actual GMAT
. Completely devasted with my performance. All the effort that i have put into the GMAT did not pay or match my expectations. I have no one to blame but myself. I am planning to take some time off and start my preparation again. Hope, i will put on a good test in my second attempt.
