The typing speeds of the secretaries are in 4:3:2 ratio

How long will it take the slowest-typing secretary working alone to type 52 pages?

Let's set up the rate formula:
rate x time = total work

Since we're given the 4:3:2 ratios, we can call the rates 4r, 3r, 2r.

Our formula becomes (4r + 3r + 2r) x 30 = 36 ---> r = 2/15

The slowest secretary is 2r = 4/15 (can type 4 pages in 15 minutes)

For the slowest secretary, using rate x time = work, we can say 4t/15 = 52 ---> t = 195 minutes or 3 hrs and 15 minutes
