Hi,

I started my prep on 1 Mar with a low score of 530. I completed OG -13 and gave the mock test and got result 590 Q44/V25. It wasn't good indeed. I tried giving 2-3 more tests but I am stuck at 590-600.

Is there anyway out to reach 700 in these 3 weeks remaining... :cry:

hi gitaknivijh,

I think you should dissect your mock tests and focus on the area in which you aren't able to perform as per your expectations.

Q44 is a bit of a bargain..
Try and find out whether it is Problem Solving or Data Sufficiency that needs some polish within Quant and then practice/hone your corresponding skills.

In verbal, again, find out whether it is SC, CR or RC that is asking for more attention and then work on that particular area..

Take up sectional tests every day: 15 ques from SC, CR and RC along with a thorough analysis of each and every question.
The ones that you get right should also be confirmed. You should know why you got them right and make a mental note of the same..

IMO, no one will be able to give you a 'formula' to reach 700 in a limited amount of time.

It all boils down to the amount of hard/smart work you have done and the kind of focus you have..

But I am a working professional and get only 2-3 hours of study daily. So Can you please suggest a way out to prepare. Also is there any study material which I should buy to reach 700.

hi gitaknivijh..
taking sectional tests for 40-50 questions everyday and then analyzing them would require just as much(3 hours)..
and you can spend 2-3 hours every week just to go through areas with which you are comfortable..

again, regarding the material to be used:
i scored a 760 primarily by referring to official material.
if you're still under the impression that going through a certain set of books will be enough for a 700 score, i think you're mistaken.
if you're through with OG13, refer it again, refer og12, 11, etc.

Remember that when you complete questions you need to complete them fully, including analysis of the questions, correct answers, and incorrect answers.

If you can quickly and confidently answer every question in the OG13 and can show your reasoning every step of the way (remembering the right answer doesn't count :) ) you will be in the 700 range.

My advice would be to put your nose to the grindstone with questions you've already worked with EXCEPT for taking new CATs. With a limited amount of time, you will find your time best spent with deep analysis of quality questions (official materials, that is) rather than superfluous guesses on new material.
