as i was registering for gmat the site asked me to report my gpa according to the scale of 4 .there was a tabulated grading system according to which my 7.5 cgpa turned out to be 2.5 ..as i feel this is very low does this make difficult for me for applying for bschools ??

Don't worry about it.... The conversion table provided by GMAC is not accurate by any account and will no hold any credibility (it is self reported after all)... Most schools will only ask for your grades as per the grading system followed in your undergrad institution...

Have you tried using the WES - World Education Service - scale (https://www.wes.org/calculator/login.asp)? You may find this to be more accurate. This was an often referred to resource by my international admissions staff members when I was the director of MBA admissions.

Additionally, every school is going to recalculate your GPA using your original transcripts. If you must put something on the application, an estimate is fine. However, if you can leave it blank because you don't have an accurate way to calculate your GPA to a 4.0 scale, then I recommend that.

Good luck!
