Hi.
I am an Indian male from the energy sector with experience of 6 years in Operations.
It has been a long journey to get to a 640(Q44 V34). In my first attempt I got a 440.
I want to pursue MBA in Operations/strategy. Which B-schools should I apply? Or should I consider retaking the GMAT?
Please suggest.

Firstly, congratulations on your big leap. That's wonderful. I suggest retaking the exam as in when you see 640 vs. percentile, that's an average score. If your extra curriculum is exceptional then you might get Indian colleges like ISB, few IIMs (they focus on marks more than ISB). There are numerous foreign universities that will take you with this score. I can't name a few.

Hi,
In theory, you can apply to many schools in the US in the 20th ranking and upwards. I know some people in Kelley who got scholarships with this score too but in practice this is very hard to you due to the competitive pool from which you come. So, you need to work hard to get more score to secure good place. Also, working in strategy, presumably in consulting, needs to break 700.
