Hi Mechmeera,

My apologies for missing your post; it must have gotten 'buried.'

It's interesting that your while your Overall scores on each of these CATs 'match up' with your Official GMAT score, the individual Scaled Scores were either too high or too low relative to your Official scores. This might mean that the CATs were a bit 'off' or it could mean that you were performing differently (in a variety of ways) while taking the Official GMAT from how you performed while taking your CATs.

Since you've been studying a certain way for some time, and you've gotten to this score level (but not to your score goal), it's important to clarify your timeframe, goals and what you're willing to do next.

1) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
2) Does your score goal remain the same (you listed it as 750+ in a prior post)?
3) What are you willing to do differently with your studies this time?

1. Im planning to attend next year or shall I say R1 this year. Guess I have only a month since there are quite a few good colleges whose deadlines are in next month.....not far behind.
2. Yes my target score remains same. 750+
3. Im planning to concentrate a lot on verbal preparation and even try to get 51 in quant as well.

Hi Mechmeera,

Since the Round 1 deadlines are coming up relatively soon (in the next 2 months for many Schools), you'll have to make some significant improvements to how you handle the Verbal section in a relatively short period of time. My concern is that you've been studying a certain way for so long that you've developed some 'bad habits' that will take some time to 'fix.' You mentioned in a prior post that you were not interested in enrolling in a Course of any kind. Is that still the case?

Hi Rich,

Yes, Since i have already taken one online verbal tutoring course and attended a local coaching centre.
I even spent a lot on books already.
With that scenario, I cant afford a Course once again and even i cant spend much time for the coaching as well.

Hi Mechmeera,

The 'economics' of studying for (and taking) the GMAT and applying to (and attending) Business School are not lost on me. The whole process is quite expensive. The 'trade-off' though, from spending a bit more money NOW, can be a HUGE payout later (in terms of scholarships, future salary, etc.). Since taking the GMAT again will cost you $250 and if you don't hit your goal score this time, then retaking it again will cost you ANOTHER $250, I have to ask what you are willing to spend?

You don't actually have to post an answer to that question here, but the reality is that there are 'solutions' to your problem that are not that expensive. I'm just not sure if you know what they are.
