Hi arabella,
You didn't quite answer the questions that I asked. There are likely to be 'patterns' in how you studied and in your CAT/Official GMAT performances - and we really need to define those patterns (so that we can 'fix' whatever needs fixing), otherwise you will likely score at the same general level when you retake the GMAT.
Studies:
1) What study materials have you used so far? Did you really just answer random "700-level" questions during this recent phase of your studies?
2) WHEN did you take the Official GMAT (on what DATE)?
3) I didn't ask for a 'range' of your CAT scores - I want to know your exact score (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores) for EACH CAT that you took.
In addition, I'd like to know a bit more about how you took your CATs:
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) Did you take them at home?
3) Did you take them at the same time of day as when you took your Official GMAT?
4) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
5) Did you ever take a CAT more than once? Had you seen any of the questions BEFORE (re: in an online forum or in a practice set)?
GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
