Keep your head up. It does sound like you probably should do a retake with the extreme imbalance, but it's been done before - so all hope is not lost.
Remember the verbal section - is last. So when you transition from quant to verbal - you really need to step back and change your mindset so you are in "verbal mode" quickly. By then, you're probably half exhausted, etc - so just make sure you keep your focus and practice doing so in your studies.
One of our students, Kang, - was in the same boat with a 690 and extreme imbalance. He was waitlisted. But we helped him boost his verbal so his total score was 760. He got off the waitlist and was awarded a $50k MBA scholarship. Now he's at Darden MBA:
