So we have :

Ways to choose 3 F and 3 M, while also ensuring 3 from relatives of each.
1) All 3 ladies from Husband's relatives, so all 3 from the wife's relatives will be men.
4C3*4C3=4*4=16
2) 2 ladies and 1 man from Husband's relatives, so 2 men and 1 lady from wife's relatives.
(4C2*3C1)*(4C2*3C1)=6*3*6*3=324
3) 1 lady and 2 men from Husband's relatives, so 1 man and 2 ladies from wife's relatives.
(4C1*3C2)*(4C1*3C2)=4*3*4*3=144
4) All 3 men from Husband's relatives, so all 3 from the wife's relatives will be ladies.
3C3*3C3=1*1=1
Total = 16+324+144+1=385

Solution:
We can use the following table to list the number of relatives by gender who can be invited to the dinner party and determine the number of ways each case can be done.

Therefore, the total number of ways is 1 + 144 + 324 + 16 = 485.
