There are some cases where a number of MBA schools give you an advantage if your quant score is good when applying for Finance.
Some schools actually partially approve your admission, and ask you to resubmit quant with a higher score.
However, in your case, we expect your score is good enough to go to decent schools regardless of quant.
Nevertheless, if you would still like to improve your quant, in GMAT Math, it is highly difficult to hit 48 or above although you're very good at math due to the nature of the exam. If you study GMAT for a very long time, it is possible to hit 49 on your own.
Since your current score is 45, you can hit 49-51 with studying Variable approach for DS in a short period of time. You can still cover PS with your own math skills though you can surely solve all DS questions 100% with the world's first Variable approach and have 10 minutes to spare.
