So it seems like the guys share their experiences here so i am gonna share mine maybe someone will benefit
i have been studying regularly for almost a month now or 5 weeks , with 10 days interruption in between because i had an unexpected temporary roommate suddenly crash at my place :@
Anyway here is the study material what i paid for:
25$ from mba.com for this IR tool
50$ for the 2 additional tests for Gmatprep
80$ for the 3 month access to gmatclub (purchased it 9 days before test lol)
i am disappointed since i score on my last 3 tests 740-740-730 (2 on gmat prep and one on kaplan ) and even on my first Gmat test on gmat prep for which i did not prepare that much ii score 720 so yeah i was expecting 740+ . But i am not gonna retake it , it's not worth it i should focus on my application(s) now.
Some of the bad things i faced which probably didn't affect my score but i want to blame them partially at least :
-i woke up today much much earlier because of the sound of mosques and i am still feeling sleepy (i am gonna change my appartment because of this)
-the place where the test cant be reached for a person coming from my area unless i take a very very crowded road . To be exact it too me 105 minutes to cross the 6 kms between my place and the test center (people who are coming from dubai dont face this issue)
The thing which definitly affected my IR score :
-i reached early and started the exam about 30 mins earlier , by the time i was doing the IR and need to focus everyone around me was typing , impossible to focus . Only when i finished the IR the other finished their AWA . I deliberately skipped the multi tab questions and some of the things that i didnt understand from the first reading because i couldnt focus and didnt want to get stuck (i always score an 8 on Gmat prep btw and get 10 out of 12).
Please spread the word .
DO NOT START YOUR TEST EARLIER THAN PLANNED / CONFIRM WITH YOUR ADMINISTRATOR THAT NO OTHER PEOPLE WILL START AFTER YOU , unless you can focus while there is a bombardment of keyboard typing around you
Questions were pretty much the same level of GMAT prep , i felt like i did really well on all verbal , especially reading comprehension so a score of V36 was disappointing to me , but most disappointing of all is Q49 (as per the report Q49 is only in the 79% percentile) and (V36 is 81 percentile)
Anyway final score IR6 Q49 V36 total 710
Finished thr IR just on time but i had to answer randomly to 4 questions at least for reasons explained earlier , finished quant i think around 10 mins earlier and finished verbal around 17 mins earlier.
Its really worth mentioning that honestly i dont have any strategy to my approach in this test, especially in verbal , so i am sure that the guys who follow this forum and read the strategies and try to apply them can achieve really high scores . I liked the tests i took in this forum and i didnt really know that they offer tests here i was just browsing when i happened to see the halloween offer of free tests and directly to decided to buy more. so even though i didnt really use this forum as much as i am supposed to i think that i can recommend it to anyone . Keep up the good work
Thanks all and i see that there are forums for business school tips and applications so i hope to find the help i need there
One last question :
I have a GPA of around 2.4 , i dont want any wishful and hopeful BS thinking , what are my realistic chances in LBS , INSEAD , HARAVARD , WHARTON and STANFORD ? these are the 5 business schools i want to apply to ?? It would be better if replies to this question came from people who really really know about this
