I had my GMAT on Thursday Nov 11 and I was extremely happy when I saw my score. Far beyond my expectations. I just read for a month. The first three weeks just 2-3 hrs/day. I just had one month to study and I found this forum just 10 days before my exam. But I think this forum is so useful, so I decided to write about my experience.
I started with Manhattan verbal series. I think they are "the must". (at least for non-native one as me!) Then I had my gmat prep 1 and I got 660. Then I read Manhattan Quant. series. After that I read OG 12.
On the last week I took all my exams. These are my scores:
GMAT prep 1 (Retake): 720
Manhattan 1: 640
Manhattan 2: 680
Manhattan 3: 720
Manhattan 4: 690
Manhattan 5: 700
Manhattan 6: 710
Kaplan : 680
GMAT prep 2: 700
So you can see that my best performance was my real GMAT
I disagree with some posts who said that forget about Manhattan Verbal. I had some crazy CR in my real one. I was happy that I saw some crazier before So take all the tests you have. It helps you not to get tired during the exam.
Two days before my exam my friend fall from her bicycle and she needed some treatments in a hospital. Then she came to our house. So I didn't have time to read. One day before my exam I drove to the exam center to find it and I stayed in a hotel near the center (It was around 1 hour driving from our home). I ate a small croissant with butter for dinner (sounds like a breakfast, huh? ) I tried to read for AWA, but I was so excited, so I went to a nearby shopping mall and I was there for about an hour. I came back to the hotel and watched a movie. I went to the bed around 11 and I remember that I was awake until around 1 AM.
I woke up at 6.30. I ate two toasts and cream cheese and drank a cup of black tea. I took a shower and I was at the center around 7.35.
The registration part was easy and I started my test around 7.55.
I hadn't tried to write a single writing before exam. I used all the minutes for the writing part. I took the break and drank water and ate a small cup cake. The restroom was full so I couldn't use it I used around 5 minutes of the break.
Q part seemed so easy. I wondered whether I was so bad at the beginning. !!!!!!!!!!!! I finished in 55 minutes (20 minutes extra time!). I took the break and went to the restroom. Drank water and ate another small piece of cake.
The first 3 SC questions were so hard and I spent around 7 minutes. RC questions were reasonable. Some of the CRs were totally different from OG and GMAT Prep. I just finished on-time.
when I clicked the "report the score" I was going to die. I was sure that I did very poor, especially in Q part. I didn't believe my score. I really wanted to hug the staff

You really gotta be kidding...a score of 50 on Verbal for a non native English speaker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am struggling to hit the 40 mark.....
Nevertheless, congrats on the good score...... all the best for your application.
Would be very helpful, if you could shed some light on your verbal preparation. may be things such as, material used, strategies for SC & CR.
I still cant believe a non native can hit a score of 50 in Verbal. Hats of to you.
