Why would you resign from work? Are you talking about taking a day off to retake it?

If you can grab a day off to retake the exam and you can do that all in time before the application deadlines, sure, go for it. I don't think it's going to be a big deal for your profile and these schools (so, yes, you're overthinking it) but it sounds like that might make you feel more at ease and COULD help with potential scholarship money (though again, IR scores aren't weighed that heavily.) Do you feel with one more chance you can replicate your Q/M performance and improve the IR score at the same time?

I’m thinking about resigning because I’ll need to wait at least another 16 days to retake the exam and by the time in order not to forget the material I want to focus on the material during the 16 days.

I think I might be able to replicate the score again but I don’t really have energy left to retake 3rd time.
I’ll probably apply with these 2 scores and explain what went dawn on an optional essay.
You think it’d be alright?
