Background
I'm an Economics undergraduate at a European university and took the GMAT as I am applying to Ms in Finance programs this year. This forum has helped me a lot, so I felt I owed to this community to share my experience. My GMAT Journey took me a total of 4 Months from start to finish. In total, I have solved 4500 questions (2940 on KMF, 760 on GMATClub Forum and 800 on
GMATClub Tests).

Preparation
I started studying in March of this year, doing about 20 questions a day on K MF. This helped me to familiarize myself with the GMAT format and question types. Especially the DS questions were new to me and it took me a while to get used to them. I kept doing 20 questions a day for about a month. In April, I had a week off from university which I used to go through the GMATClub Quant PDF and the Manhattan Quant books. This helped me tremendously with Quant, as the GMAT requires you to know very specific formulas and mathematical properties and these books covered them mostly.
For Quant, I believe the GMATClub Test platform helped me improve the most. Over time, I went from scoring Q42-Q44 on their CATs to scoring Q49-Q50 consistently. The questions are a bit harder than most GMAT questions and force you to think outside of the box. I can highly recommend it to everyone, especially for the value per dollar spent.
My verbal scoring has always been strong, that is why I did not use any books to prepare. For RC, I did very little preparation as it came very natural to me, it was very similar to RC exams I used to have in high school. For SC and CR, I solved many
OG questions, which helped me recognize patterns.
Every time I made a mistake, I searched for the GMATClub thread and I tried to understand
why the right answer is correct and where I made the mistake. I took notes for SC for the questions I got wrong.
As it I am on summer break from university right now, I had about 3 weeks completely free which allowed me to focus on studying for the GMAT. Over the last weeks, I focused on the hardest questions I could find. This meant doing all the
OG 700+ questions on the forum and only 700+ questions on
GMATClub tests.

Test Day
My test time was scheduled for 13:00. I had stopped studying the day before around 5 PM, as I did not want to fatigue myself. The day of the test, I woke up at around 7, got up and had a nutritious breakfast. I went through my Quant notes, but did not do any questions to warm up. Getting to the test centre took my around an hour and I arrived around 45 minutes before my test was scheduled. I got checked in and was escorted to the computer. I did not feel nervous or stressed, as I knew that I had done everything necessary to succeed. I had taken enough practice tests leading up to the exam, that it felt like just another practice exam.
The order in which I took the test was Q-V-IR-AWA, as I did not want to tire myself with IR and AWA before the real stuff began. I choose to do Quant first, as I felt that this was the most important aspect for me to be focused on. Somehow, quant felt rather easy for the most part, but some questions were difficult and for the sake of time I chose to guess them. I finished Quant with about 20 seconds remaining. Verbal on the other hand, which came naturally to me, felt like it was harder than what I was used to. I finished Verbal with 10 minutes remaining. In the end it turned out I did rather well on Verbal and not as well as I had hoped on Quant. I used the breaks to had a granola bar and a few sips of water, as well as a bathroom break.
IR was very easy, which was nice after Q and V tired me a bit. The AWA prompt that was given to me fit well in the template that Chineseburned wrote. However, I do not have the result from my essay yet.
