Obviously excited about getting 760 this morning, but having a 54th percentile IR score isn’t too hot.

If I’m hoping for HBS 2+2 do I need to improve my IR? I scored 7’s on the four Official GMAT practice tests that I took so this was a surprise. Definitely a champagne problem but I appreciate the help!
No. The IR score is just not important enough to warrant another attempt.

Congratulations on the 760, and all the best for your applications!

Congratulations rollbadge23 on the Amazing 760.

I dont think you need to retake since the IR score is not that important compared to other areas of your application.
I suggest rather you should concentrate on your application part.

All the best!

Hi rollbadge23,

First off, a 760/Q49 is an outstanding score, so you can comfortably apply to any Schools that interest you. Your IR Score will likely NOT be a factor in your application(s), so you have nothing to worry about there. Since the 2+2 Program is highly-competitive though, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

Congrats on the score! I'd absolutely recommend against retaking the GMAT, despite your 5 on the IR... unless you literally just have the free time / money / energy and you're curious to see whether you could do any better. But from an admissions perspective, I doubt there's any strategic reason to take it again.

I think you should be OK with a 5 on IR. That said, if you are concerned, you could retake GMAT. If you score lower than 750 (regardless of what happens on IR), you could just cancel the score. When is your application due?
