It's good to be a newly-minted member of the club.

Score: 770 (Q50, V44)

I took the GMAT in Nov. 2008 and scored 700 (Q47, V39), so this was a re-take for me.

WOW! Congratulations! Amazing score.
I am holding my breath for a debrief!!! Please!!!

760 (45V/98%;49Q/87%). AWA 6.0 (90%)
Took test Oct 21, 2009.

Decided in August that I'd give b-school apps a shot (more because I was bored at work than anything), initially planned on just applying to UCLA and USC's part-time programs. Found this forum a few weeks prior to the test, though I've been using it more for tips on the actual applications and comparing various schools (now planning on applying to a handful of top programs just to see what happens).

Used the Official Guide and the Princeton Review's 'Cracking the GMAT' books. Found that the practice was the best way to improve in general and you can't beat the Official Guide for that, and the 'Cracking the GMAT' book had some good tips for math review and sentence correction. Also did a slew of Manhattan GMAT and GMATPrep practice tests (oddly enough never scoring above 710).

Link to your GMAT debrief: None done.

A quick debrief is - I stuffed the timing on the math because I spent 10 minutes on the first question. Managed to pull it back together but I was really pushed for time. Silly me. Verbal was a bit of a black box, I could have done better but I couldn't have told you what I got wrong. When the questions came I was like "Aha! This is a trick one" and then I still had to guess. That said I was GMATPrep testing at 740-780 before the exam so I knew I was on track. I started at 700ish. IMHO the best way to go is to absolutely flog yourself on SC and data sufficiency - everything else will fall into place. I think I wrote one AWA before I went in, if you're a native speaker and know the structure it's not too hard.

babyif - there's no reason to feel dumb. the difference between a 750 and a 760 is probably like one more question wrong/right. a 750 is a great score, and it definitely won't be keeping you out of any of your top b-school choices.

Hi- took GMAT on 21st Jan 10

760, 44(v), 49(q)

Found the Gmat Club tests very helpful. Spent a good bit of time (5 mon) preparing, but bulk of the work was done in the last 2 months.
