A and B are two stations 380 km apart. A man starts from A at 5.30 a.m. and travels towards B at 70 km/h. Another scooterist starts from B at 6.30 a.m. and travels towards A at 85 km/h. At what time do they meet ?
(A) 8.00 a.m.
(B) 8.30 a.m.
(C) 9.30 a.m.
(D) 10.00 a.m.
(E) 11.00 a.m.
Distance travelled by A from 5:30 to 6:30 = 70 km
Remaining distance between A and B now = 380-70 = 310
Relative speed (opposite direction) = 70+85 = 155 km/hr\(Time = \frac{Distance }{ Speed} = \frac{310}{155} = 2\) hours
Time of meeting = 2 hours after 6:30 Am
i.e. 8:30 AM
Answer: Option B
