I was trying some different type of reasoning questions.Need some help from you guys.Its not related to gmat curriculum.
Can anybody expalin me how can we represent such questions in venn diagrams nd solve:-
Give answer as
1. if only conclusion I follows
2. if only conclusion II follows
3. if either I or II follows
4. if neither I nor II follows
5. if both I and II follow
------------------------------------
1. STATEMENTS:
1. All magazines are books.
2. No book is novel.
CONCLUSIONS:
I. No novel is book.
II. No magazine is novel.
2.STATEMENTS:
1. No table is chair.
2. Some chairs are stools.
CONCLUSIONS:
I. Some tables are not stools.
II. Some stools are not tables.

Dude... This is CAT type question man... and that too Logical Reasoning!!!
It's got nothing to do with GMAT!
Let B be the set of all Books
Let M be the set of all magazines
Since All magazines are Books, M must be contained within B.
Statement 2:
No book is a novel
Let circle N be the set of all novels.
Circle N cannot touch the circle B because no book is a novel.
Conclusion I
Follows
Conclusion II
Follows
So either I or II follows
It's got nothing to do with GMAT!
