the subject here is Jean Toomer's Cane and not Jean himself. Parallelism would ensue comparison of Cane with Native Son and Invisible Man. E is the obvious choice.

I also think that the comma before "and" in choice (C) and (D) is incorrect. Would like to hear experts comments.
