I have come to accept the undeniable truth that I am a god incarnate.

So which of us are getting into GSB? I knew I should have bribed you while i was in Chicago.

Hey westsider,
Worked my ass out on the GMAT and was pleasantly surprises by a 750. I started out with a target of 700 as my username suggests but ended up with 750. I come from a small country and by what I know 750 is the highest ever scored from my country so that made me feel even more special.

Even if there is no one who does not appreciate what you have accomplished rest assured that there is this guy who really does!!!!!

Hey 700willdo congrats on your 750 score I can only imagine what it feels like to be top in your country!!!

It does feel good to get the top score but I always knew that it was kind of a "big fish in a small pond" kind of thing and like everyone here, I set pretty high standards for myself so was happy but not too happy because I would like to compete with bigger fishes in a bigger pond. That is one of the main reasons I wanna go out of my country and compete. I guess the need to prove myself at a bigger pond is what is the biggest driver for me to go get an MBA from a top school.

Thanks 700! I think that my classmates will be the best part of the degree as well! It sounds like you have a GREAT story !

westsider,
You guessed right. I think I do have a great story having lived and worked in a small underdeveloped country for the past 10 years. The country going through a bitter civil war didnt help and me trying to run my own businesses, making investments hoping to grow them etc was a real ride man. I can imagine that you have a great story too and I am sure the class that we will all be with at Foster will all have great stories. Will save the entire story for the school. Cheers!!!!!

+1 kudos for God!

< boast >

I have been working for 8+ years and bought a condo in Times Square in October of 2006. I have been doing very well with work and feel that I can bring the same momentum to my MBA / JD pursuit and boost my academic record/qualifications. I am taking the GMAT this year and plan to dropkick it back into oblivion.

< / boast >

i finally found a use for the HTML boasting tags

Funny enough though, on weekends, I see tons of people in my building wearing shirts that read Harvard, Columbia, Stern, Yale, Chicago GSB, etc. I want to be wearing one of those shirts by next year!!!!! ;]

I like this bragging right place. I have no business experience. I have lived the life of a bohemian for at least 7 years, and just got back from Colombia where I led one of the most famous Russian theatre troupes in a festival. (Imagine being an American in Colombia speaking through a translator translating from Russian...strange indeed.) I decided to apply to business school and was dinged from my top choices, but was accepted at Duke...this was the one school I was sure would ding me.
