Set up the following proportion:
600 miles/60 min = 30 miles/X

Simplifies to:
10 = 30/X >>> 10X=30 >>> x=3

Correct answer is B) 5:01 pm

Plane travels 600 miles in 60 minutes

plane will travel 30 miles in (60/600)*30 minutes = 3 minutes

i.e. Arrival time of plane = 3 minutes after 4:58 = 5:01 PM

As per my understanding, 600 miles per hour , hence we can see that in an hour i.e 60 mins , it is travelling in a speed of 600miles ,
so 600/60 = 10
30 miles , 30/10 = 3 . Time right now , 4:58 + 3 = 5.01 ETA .

QA : B

speed = 600 mph
distance = 30 miles
so, time = distance/speed = 30 miles/600mph=1/20 hours
1/20 hours = 3 minutes [(1/20)*60 min]
4:58 + 3 minutes = 5:01 pm

Time=$$\frac{Distance}{Speed}$$= $$\frac{30}{600}$$= $$\frac{1}{20}$$ or $$\frac{1}{20}$$*60= 3 mins

4:58 + 3 minutes = 5:01 pm

first, convert the time unit to minutes instead of hours: 1 hour = 60 mins
R: D/T
R: (600 Miles/hour )/60 mins = 10
If T= 3 mins, what is T ? T= D/R ===> T= 30 miles/10= 3
Time = 4:58 + 3 mins : 5:01 (B)

It will take the plane 30/600 = 1/20 hours = 3 minutes to get to Kennedy Airport. So the plane will arrive at 5:01 pm.

$$\frac{600mi}{1hr}=\frac{600mi}{60mins}=\frac{60mi}{6mins}=\frac{10mi}{1min}$$

The plane is 30 miles away. At 10 miles per minute, it will cover that distance in 3 minutes.

600mph = 10mpm

So, Time required is 30/10 = 3 min

So, the Aircraft will land at (B) 5:01 p.m
