The research suggests that non-tenured profs do engage their students more. We need to find the option that shows that this may not actually be the case. That students taught by non-tenured profs take another class in same subject and receive better grades in that class because of some other reason.
A) tenured professors usually have far more extensive experience in research than do non-tenured professors.
Does not explain why students taught by non-tenured profs take another class in same subject and receive better grades in that class.
B) the more the number of hours taught by non-tenured and tenure-track professors, the better are their chances to be offered a tenured position.
How tenured position is obtained is irrelevant. We want to find why students taught by non-tenured profs take another class in same subject and receive better grades in that class.
C) both tenured and non-tenured professors have equal access to resources such as research papers, field specific books etc.
Again, does not explain the better results obtained by non-tenured profs.
D) non-tenured professors are normally fresh graduates from colleges and are hence able to build a better rapport with their students.
This explains why non-tenured profs are able to engage better with students - because they are fresh out of college. It does not say that non-tenured DO NOT engage students better. It does not say that there is another reason why non-tenured profs do better.
E) The introductory level classes in a subject for which students have to take mandatory advanced classes are normally assigned to the non-tenured professors.
This explains it. Non tenured profs get intro classes after which there are mandatory advanced classes. That is why their students take another class in the same subject. So it may seem that they engage students better but it may be just because of the way classes are assigned.

My choice is E.
If the non tenured guys teach those introductory lessons for which anyway students *have to*, and not necessarily *want to*, take advanced classes, then the result of the survey (conclusion) is disproven - that non tenured guys keep students "interested" (enhanced learning) & that results in the students taking advanced classes for the subjects taught by non tenured guys.
