A sales clerk at a computer store earns 5% commission on all of his sales in addition to his $150 base weekly salary.
(a) What variables are appropriate?

W (weekly salary in dollars) and s (number of sales clerks per store) I choose this one
W (number of computer stores) and s (total sales per week in dollars)
W (number of hours worked per week) and s (weekly salary in dollars)
W (weekly salary in dollars) and s (total sales per week in dollars)
W (number of hours worked per week) and s (total commission per week in dollars)

(b) Write an equation for the sales clerk's salary per week when he sells s dollars of merchandise during the week.

for the equation i came up with, 150+sdollars.

Hi..

Even if I don't look at the choices I have two things ..
1) weekly salary
2) 5% on all his sales

Variables I would take - W for weekly salary which is also given as 150 and sales as s

So the equation would be
150+0.05s that is Weekly salary+5% on sales

W = $150 + 5% of S

Answer must be (D), errors in other options highlighted.
