A school district’s food and nutrition director asks a panel of high school students for recommendations for changes in the menu options in the school cafeteria. After implementing student recommendations that were in compliance with state nutrition guidelines, the director surveys 100 randomly selected students in the high school to assess their satisfaction with the revised cafeteria menu, on a scale of 1 (indicating “Extremely Dissatisfied”) to 7 (indicating “Extremely Satisfied). The graph shown displays the students’ responses to the survey. What is the ratio of the number of students who chose 5 or higher as a response to the number of students who chose 3 or lower as a response?

(A) 9/11
(B) 3/4
(C) 3/2
(D) 9/4
(E) 10/1

The number of students who chose 5 or higher is 30 + 5 + 10 = 45.

The number of students who chose 3 or lower is 5 + 15 + 10 = 30.

So, the ratio is 45/30 = 3/2.
