A. 4 miles
B. 5 3/4 miles
C. 6 1/2 miles
D. 7 3/4 miles
E. 8 1/4 miles

Use reverse calculation-

Total Cost = Fixed Cost ( For 1/4 miles ) + Variable cost ( Distance Travelled )

Or, 6.50 = 2.75 + 0.125 * d

Or, 3.75 = $$\frac{d}{8}$$

Or, d = 30 quarter miles

So, Total Distance = ( 30 + 1 ) Quarter miles

So, Distance = 31/4 => $$7 \frac{3}{4}$$ miles
