Option A weakens the proposition that cuis wouldn't vanish while B and D seem irrelevant. C gives a plausible reason why the cuis might not vanish, but the likelihood of last cuis being most resilient might not necessarily mean they won't vanish. E seems a stronger option - if a major predator vanishes more quickly, the last of the cuis have a better chance to survive. So, E.
