Abraham is a member of the Board of Directors for a certain company. At its annual meeting, the company chooses several officers at random from among the members of the Board. Only members of the Board can be chosen as officers and each member can hold only one position. What is the probability that Abraham is chosen to be one of the officers?

If they choose one chairperson randomly, the probability any specific board member will be chosen will be 1/n, where n is the number of people on the board. So if Abraham has a 1/4 probability of being chosen chairperson, there must be 4 people in total, But we don't know, from Statement 1 alone, how many officer positions there are - we know there are at least three (since the question says there will be "several officers" chosen, and "several" means "more than two"), but there could also be four.
Statement 2 tells us how many officers are chosen, but not the size of the board - if the board is small, Abraham will have a good chance of being chosen an officer, but if the board is huge, he will not.
Using both Statements, we know every number, so we can answer any question at all. If they pick three different officers from four people, Abraham will have a 3/4 probability of being chosen as an officer, and the answer is C.
