Sentences in English can be Active or Passive. You should be able to distinguish between active and passive forms of verbs to answer certain questions on GMAT.
Active Voice v/s Passive VoiceIn sentences written in active voice, the subject performs the action expressed in the verb; the subject acts.
Example:a)Steve completed my homework.
b) Kate owns this book
c) Ross has completed my homework
In sentences written in passive voice, the subject receives the action expressed in the
verb; the subject is acted upon.
Example: a) My homework was completed by Steve.
b) This is Kate's book.
c) My homework has been completed by Ross

that employers should retain all
older workers indefinitely or show just cause for dismissal.
