Ive been taking Manhattan tests and getting 45-46 in Quant. I took GMATPrep and got 49 in Quant. A week left for the exam. I need to focus on Verbal but I'm worried about quants because I've heard the actual level is tougher than GMATprep. If that's the case, I need to work on both verbal and quant. :( Please guide.

Try GMAT club Quant Test papers and i bet u will forget Manhattan (Manhattan is 2nd best in the market) . No one,even GMAT itself, can beat GMAT club in terms of Quant questions difficulty.

Manhattan GMAT tests are HARDER than GMATPrep tests. So if I were you, I would not worry at all about quantitative section ;)

To provide some context, i personally never scored higher than Q44 on manhattan, but got a Q47 on my last real gmat attempt.

Manhattan GMAT tests are HARDER than GMATPrep tests. So if I were you, I would not worry at all about quantitative section ;)

Hi sharzarora, as has been mentioned above, if you're consistently getting 45-46 in your quant prep, you're pretty much ready for the test. I'd focus the majority of the remaining time on verbal (depending on how you're doing in that category), and then recap quant maybe two days before the exam date. At this point, what's going to make the biggest difference between 45 and 49 on test day is how mentally rested and focused you are on test day, so sleep well the night before and avoid the temptation to cram the night before. You should be good to go! Please feel free to let the community know how you do on test day.

Hi sharzarora, as has been mentioned above, if you're consistently getting 45-46 in your quant prep, you're pretty much ready for the test. Hi i am very confused. i took Gmat Prep test 1 scored 690 (Q 49, V34) and in Gmat prep 2 720(Q50 , V37) both test were re-test. I was confident and was aiming 690+. But then i too MGMAT and my scores saw a huge fall Mock 1 550 and Mock 2 :- 590. Now i have no clue what to do. Has this happened with anyone else too. I studied MGMAT SC and CR bible to improve verbal. Gmat Prep 2 and MGMAT 2 were taken by me after 1 month of hard work on verbal.

The only reason i could see is that there might be a lot of repeats in gmat prep mocks and hence the score was inflated...These days you tend to score a low in mgmat than your actual score...So that might be a reason for such big difference.

1st thanks for replying. Yes Gmat prep were repeated for the 3rd time, But since the 1st mock of Gmat Prep i have scored 47 + in Quants. In manhattan i find Quants to be more lengthy and tougher too. Is it true.

Manhattan Mocks were taken for the 1st time but after sincere prep. I could score only 43 in Quants :shock: :shock:

Yes thats true, their quant is trickier..moreover they have changed their scoring algorithm too..

Thanks Again. What is the new algorithm ( Any Link of explanation). I have read in few de-briefs that if we do 1st 10 questions of each section with minimum mistakes there is a reasonable difference in final score. Has this concept changed ?

Nobody knows actual gmat algorithm, but yes first 10 questions are important(its also important to not over emphasize on them).
