Actually I took 40/3 = 13.3 Hours (13H 18m) But the official answer has take 40/3 = 13.33 (13H 20m). Is it a rule that we need to take our Quotient upto 2 decimal places?
I've seen almost every official question ever published, and I've never needed to do long division at all, let alone to two decimal places, so I think the reply above mine might be a bit misleading. Notice here that the answer choices aren't to any decimal places -- so we don't want to convert our fraction to decimal. We want to convert it to hours and minutes. The question doesn't ask for an approximation, so the answers are exact, and if you know 1/3 of an hour is 20 minutes, you might already be able to tell that 40/3 hours could only equal answer choice B or C here, and if you can see that B is far too large, you'd be done, or you can notice that 40/3 = 39/3 + 1/3 = 13 + 1/3 hours, so it is 13 hours and 20 minutes.
In a considerable majority of situations, fractions are easier to work with than decimals (at least when you don't have a calculator), and if you're converting a fraction to decimal, you usually should have some good reason for doing so.
