Regarding an archived recording, we will post a link to an edited, studio quality recording of the "5 Questions" presentation on the MBA Prep School website, which will be free to GMAT Club members.

Of course, I'd encourage everyone to attend the live webinar so they can ask specific questions during the presentation and in the Q&A afterwards. That should be very valuable.

The title of the webinar is  The 5 Fundamental Questions that MBA Applications Ask

I thought I'd give you a little background about where these five questions came from. As bb mentioned in his post, I’m the co-founder of an online learning company called MBA Prep School. In the same way that your GMAT classes are preparing you to ace the questions on the GMAT, MBA Prep School prepares our students to ace the key questions they’ll face in their MBA applications. To design our MBA Prep School courses, we needed to identify the fundamental questions that just about every MBA application asks.

How did we do that?

We assembled a team of experienced admissions consultants – like Alex Leventhal and Daniel Brookings who, like me, have over five years of experience as MBA admissions consultants. Together, we analyzed the application forms, essay questions, and interview transcripts. We also interviewed admissions officers to get their opinion on the questions they most wanted answered. What we concluded at the end of our research was that, although every school has its own unique application, five (5) fundamental questions appear again-and-again.

In a later post, I'll reveal what those questions are, but let's leave a little suspense for now. The real value of the course is the discussion of what admission committees are listening for when they ask these five questions. See you in class!

1. Are you a leader?
2. What are your career goals?
3. What have you achieved professionally?
4. Why are you applying to our school?
5. How can you enrich our community?

Now, these aren’t the only questions admissions officers want answered – but they are the essential ones.

You may be asked them directly in the essay questions and interviews – or indirectly via your resume and application forms. Your references will add to your answers via their recommendation letters.

The interesting thing about these questions is that they are deceptively simple -- answering them well is a lot trickier than you might think.

In the webinar, we’re going to go through each question one-by-one. I can’t give you the "right answer"
 – because the right answer depends on you. But what I can do is provide you with an approach to answering them. In the webinar, you'll learn how to create impressive responses that are customized to your strengths, your story, and your plans.
