Since there have been so many questions about GBR and Housing (same questions I have), I thought we should have our own thread. First off Who's going to which Local Meet? Who's going to GBR? And what's the housing situation? ME Going to the Los Angeles Meet. Unsure of GBR, although ticket prices dropped from 340 to 230 which is nice! Housing, was thinking about northwood graduate housing, but hearing from exeno that it's a bunch of science grad students, I'm not thinking of the main 3 people do. I won't have a car, so I would like something really close (also since i've never walked in snow without snowboarding shoes on)

Hey all -- question for you. I'm likely going on an M-trek, but it would force me to miss QSR. I really think any tune up of my quant skills would be useful, but an M-trek could represent a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I'm not sure how best to proceed. Does anyone have a sense of how introductory QSR is? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Also, I'm headed out to Ross this Friday, and hope to see some you there.

on qsw - sign up, don't go. you can pick up the materials later. when i went to get mine post mtrek, they didn't even check if i had registered. you'll be happy you went on mtrek rather than go to qsw. and some of the profs will provide you the qsw materials as well.

Does anyone know which companies with rotational programs come to recruit on campus?

I haven't done any research into this, but off-hand i know of Eaton, Cummins, and GE. Check out the General Management Club. The members/officers should be able to answer this question.

Thanks, conmisdosmanos and peaceyall! Yea, just saw it on Google Groups. It looks like an inexpensive, flexible trip for a good cause that could easily fit into most people's schedules. I'm definitely considering it. Anybody else going?

They said it's a few hundred bucks, but I guess we'll see. Sounds like it shouldn't be too bad, though, if you go by van. I would actually prefer the van, because I do want to see the places between AA and Louisiana.

What's the reasoning behind canceling treks?

This might be a special case, but the reason they gave was that there weren't enough people signed up to make it cost-effective. This was the canceled Bangkok trip, which turned into Australia, but apparently there wasn't enough interest. In any case, I'm just glad that I'll be able to go somewhere that's close to a beach, even though that beach may not be exactly pristine.
