Hi aau,

I have seen invitations to these events on another forum also.
Are these receptions happening for real? since the site they are posted on is not very official.

Also, do you know how/where I can create a profile/username on the site to access other such events.

Thanks

i see messages like this because of some volunteer work i do with admissions, so all i do is pass them to you all. I know nothing else.

Hey helg,

So what did you friends think about the event? Is it worth going to? Do you know more about the set-up of the event?

Thanks!!

As far as I know, the events are targeting students from the following schools: H/S/W, Chi/K, Fuqua, Ross and Darden.

You may wonder where Sloan or Columbia are? Well, as far as I understand, (not being an employee, talking to a friend there) BCG has "deep core" schools attached to its U.S. offices.

H: Boston (therefore, less emphasis on MIT)
S: San Francisco (therefore less emphasis on Berkeley)
W: New York (therefore less emphasis on Columbia or NYU)
Chi/K: Chicago
Fuqua: Atlanta (therefore less emphasis on UNC)
Darden: Washington DC
Ross: Detroit

My advice is to go whether or not you are interested in consulting.

If you are - its a way to get your network kick started.
If you are not, its a risk free chance to practice networking and get a sense of what to expect.

Yea.. That's what I was thinking. While I don't plan on recruiting for consulting, it would provide a good opportunity to practice networking etc.

So who's planning to attend and where?

Anyone for the one in DC on the 17th ?
That seems to be the only feasible option for me at this point... :(

I am an incoming student..yeah but what "list" is this? I cannot seem to get into the class of 2010 yahoogroup, if that's what you mean...

I think it is gonna be an interesting move for me..I fly into Columbus OH and spend a week or two there and then drive down to DC spend the day there and then drive down to Durham.. on the 18th.

That'll leave me with....about 10 days to setup shop..and get all settled in...a sign of things to come I suppose...
