I just told my job that I'm leaving in two months. It is incredibly liberating. I'm going to travel for a couple of months before going to Switzerland.

5) Sobered up from the celebration?
Everyday I celebrate a little (like when I showed up 30 minutes late to work or leave early).

I have 2 months left as well. I have never felt anything quite as glorious.

next Monday I start 20 hours a week... I told my boss today to not expect me to lead any projects. purely "supportive" function only. :P It feels great to be able to say those things and demand those things without repercussions.

Part-time? when do you start your world tour?

Seems like a lot of you guys are off on your travels, You should arrange to meet up somewhere in case your travel plans cross paths.

I start my "world" tour in May. Will try to hit Cambodia, Taiwan, and South Korea before spending most of my time in China.

I'll be going to Fiji, Australia and Vietnam over two months. Definitely living cheaply. I'll have two months in Switzerland before school starts.

I've decided that I am going to try out retirement for 2 months before school starts. I want to experience waking up late, going to the gym in the middle of the day, and hopping on a plane and travelling whenever and wherever I want when I get that itch to do so.

Re: Admitted students...now what? [#permalink]
I am in at Chicago and Kellogg. Waiting to hear from Columbia.

1) Have you decided if you are going to matriculate or are you still holding out for another decision?
Not final yet, but I am heavily leaning towards Chicago GSB

2) Where are you holding out for or what would it take for a backup school to win you over?
Will Columbia admit me and give me some money?

3) Are you still planning on working on R2 applications or are you gonna save the application fees and enjoy your new found peace of mind?
Applied only in R2 to the four schools (Wharton Ding)

4) Have you begun to dream what its going to be like to quit your job and head back to school?
Have been dreaming for quite a while now. I am just tired at my current job and need to get out. The admits have been very timely gifts for me.

5) Sobered up from the celebration?
Celebrations are on and continuing. It will be a three month long celebration. But suddenly the admits have made me to wake up and take stock of all the loose ends in my life..there are many, and I just want to take care of a few things now so that I can start afresh in bschool...trying to keep a level head for now

Congratulations on the Kellogg admit. And all the best for Columbia. Let's hope you get an admit there too, and in the end, you still come to GSB :)

Matriculating at MIT Sloan.

2) Where are you holding out for or what would it take for a backup school to win you over?
Nothing

3) Are you still planning on working on R2 applications or are you gonna save the application fees and enjoy your new found peace of mind?
Most of my applications were round 2. I am done with the process, but now I must sell my house. Fortunately, I'm not in Florida or California that might have been real painful.

4) Have you begun to dream what its going to be like to quit your job and head back to school?
Heck yeah, I have three months of vacation time I'm using. Finally, I am able to kick back and not worry about the Middle East.

5) Sobered up from the celebration?
Once my house is sold, I'll be stress free. I'm looking forward to moving up to Boston.

Thanks mNeo. I am thinking of withdrawing from Columbia...Kinda seems pointless right now. And yeah, I am am coming to GSB (I think!!)...GSB seems like perfect for me in all senses..

Re: Admitted students...now what? [#permalink]
slight spanner in the works for me.

Playing futsal last night. Received a long ball, turned my man and nudged the ball past him, he tried to ttackle me and clipped my foot, this caused me to stand on the ball in full sprint, twisting my ankle over and throwing my full weight on it with a loud crack!!!

Hospital scan showed no broken bone, but i can`t even stand up on it even with crutches. Hospital said to give it 3 days and if it hasn`t improved significantly then its probably a torn or ripped ligament which may need operating. So not working at the moment because i can`t get into the office.

Lots of things to do for my move abroad.. including updating my passport. I only have 1 blank page left, so need to go to the embassay to get a new one, and get my current Japanese visas transferred over to the new one (valid working visa means i have an option of an internship in japan if an opportunity arises). Wife is due in the next few weeks so she`s unable to carry anything, and we have a 2 year old running rampant who i can`t pick up or take to daycare currently :(
