I haven't received the official email yet either (got the call earlier today). Bruce mentioned that there would be a Bay Area get-together next week - anyone know when?

got a call this morning with the news. Almost surely, attending yale this fall. Unfortunately I cant attend bulldog days since I'll be travelling internationally at the time.

To the people waiting for the status update email - the impression I got from my call was that those will arrive tomorrow for everyone at one time.

Has anyone tried asking for an extension to their enrollment decision deadline? Was it successful?

I tried but was denied. Most Consortium applicants must enroll by the 15th but that is before Bulldog days. I think it's a shame that they planned to host their admitted student weekend after their enrollment decision deadline.

Congrats! Nink, with a grad student id card, do you have access to pretty much everything but the residential colleges (i.e. all the libraries, other proffessional school buildings, study rooms, etc.)? Also, is there a student union building where people can study and generally hang out, or do you stay put at SOM during downtime?

Sheeesh... ask that during admitted student weekend to any current student.

Used to be pretty easy to get into most Yale buildings (but then I never even tried to enter undergrad residential buildings and etc...so I can't say for sure), even though YSOM students might not have any business in that building....but after last year's Yale grad student incident, security got tighter and it's little more strict..

But I spend a lot of time at Yale Law library and etc. And we drink a lot at Gryphon’s Pub.

I can think of some business some YSOM students might like to have in a residential college  But then again, last weekend while I was having a walk around campus there was a balding middle aged man sunning himself on the grass between Branford and Jonathan Edwards in nothing but a thong. If that was representative of the springtime sunning action you get at Yale, I'd just as soon stay put at YSOM too.

In case you haven't read it, this is a really great example of how YSOM CDO works with each student. Some schools have this idea that it is up to each student to find an internship or a job but YSOM CDO understands (and takes pride in) that each FT student gives up a FT job to attend YSOM and each student carries huge opportunity cost by attending bschool. They really care about each student's situation/goals and try to do as much as they can (sometimes I think they care more than I do :-D ).

I've mentioned before ( summer-2010-internship-candidates-how-is-the-search-going-89385.html?view-post=695184#p695184 ) that I accepted a summer internship with a really prestigious boutique IB in restructuring. This bank did not come to YSOM for on campus recruiting but has history of hiring YSOM students every year. CDO worked out everything for me when I asked them how I can apply for a position there. CDO really has a lot of resources available. You just have to ask and usually they let you know of all the options even if you don't ask.

One of the MD I've met there is a YSOM alum and we talked a lot before making my decision and etc. Since YSOM only has FT program and the class size is small, you really get individual attention here.

Anyway, just thought I would share that above story with you guys in case you guys missed it.

I just got a call about scholarships, I got $25,000/year! I had to ask again just to make sure I didn't mis-hear. So extra happy now! Did anyone else get a similar call?
