Re: After a steady increase up from a five-year high in the early 1960s [#permalink]
A. After a steady increase up - up is redundant here as increase conveys upward trajectory.
B. Following the steady increasing - steady is an adjective must modify noun, increasing is a verb form present participle
C. After steadying the increase - meaning issue >> the increase was made steady by someone, who?
D. Following a steadily increasing from 5 year high - the thought is incomplete >> following what? is not mentioned.
E. After steadily increasing - complete thought conveyed here after points to sequence and from 5 year high to ....approx 2.3 mn is conveying a complete thought.
