After doing the last step of a certain calculation, Bob arrived at an answer of 387. Bob then realized that he had accidentally multiplied by 100 instead of dividing by 100. Had he done the calculations correctly, what would the result have been?

A 0.000387
B 0.00387
C 0.0387
D 0.387
E 3.87

We can create the equation:

100n = 387

n = 387/100 = 3.87

So when done correctly the value should have been 3.87/100 = 0.0387
