As 387/(100*100)= 0.0387

Would give desired solution.

first divide by 100 to get to original no and then again divide by 100 to get answer
so

We can create the equation:

100n = 387

n = 387/100 = 3.87

So when done correctly the value should have been 3.87/100 = 0.0387
