try https://www.kayak.com, https://www.mobissimo.com, or https://www.travelzoo.com.

you can also try https://www.farecast.com - which predicts if airfare prices will rise or fall in the next few days.

Whats the logic behind Airline pricing

Dec 12 --return NYC to Atlanta - 653$

Dec 13 -- Same - 274$

what the heck --how can the pricing be so outrageous -between 48 hrs vs 72 hrs

I think it is 48 hours versus 72 hours rather than a Wed vs Thurs thingy. So..if you wait for a day, the ticket on Thursday might be $600+ too :)

try site69 for weekend deals.. its part of travelocity...

i would recommend trying southwest for last minute flights...

I think there are rate categories and sometimes a particular category is sold out due rush on that day.
