Additionally, while the people were really nice, I am not a big fan of Charlottesville or "hick-ville USA" in general. I know what you're thinking: "Then JD04, why Duke?" The research triangle has a totally different feel than the rest of the south, IMO.

Virginia = Hickville USA? Wow.

You kidding me? Absolutely. It's the only place I've ever seen stores sell single cigs out of a can for 5cents.

Was this Charlottesville or some random VA city?

(shrug)...Sounds fairly ingenious to me.

You know, you're right. Compared to Ethelsville, Alabama (pop 81) Charlottesville is quite cosmopolitan. Forgive my snooty Pacific-Northwest-liberal-nose-in-the-air attitude.

BTW, I don't mean any offense, I'm just pointing out that it's all relative.
Compared to Seattle (where I grew up), Charlottesville (as well as most of Virginia) is definitely "Hick-ville"

Compared to other parts of the US, it definitely isn't.

Bout 40 minutes away from Charlottesville. In the direction of DC.
