Ok really dumb question....The deadline for Tuck Jan round and Tepper R2 is Jan 3rd....does that mean anything submitted on Jan 3rd will count towards those rounds or anything submitted on Jan 3rd will count toward the later round?

Good question. Usually schools specify that the deadline is Jan 3rd Midnight EST or 8 PM Central, etc
You should check the school's page (sometimes things change and sometimes deadlines are different for international applicants)

I believe the above one should hold good, as an approximate estimate, for fall 2014 admissions. I am going by it. All the best.

You'll have to check the school websites for the dates for the 2014 cycle. Generally dates will be updated in early to mid summer but some schools do wait until the fall. The 2013 dates are good benchmarks though since most schools don't drastically change their dates from year to year.

Agreed, I used the 2011-2012 app dates as a benchmark for my plan, and every school I had planned to apply to stayed within 2 weeks of their old date.
https://blog.clearadmit.com/ is a good place to check every day or so to see which school essays and deadlines were released. I'm sure we'll start putting together a list for the 2014 app season once more deadlines are available.
