Hi all!
Am hoping for some advice about building an alternative transcript.
I graduated from a top 10 liberals arts, with a BA in Econ and 3.01 GPA 3 years ago. I did poorly in a lot of my quant courses as I decided to place out of Calc 1 (came from foreign university that had some courses that transferred which shouldn't have), struggled in Calc 2 which had a domino effect on Calc 3 and pretty much all of my econ/chemistry courses, what with me being discouraged and never catching up on my math. Specific grades were:
Calc 2 B
Calc 3 NC - retake 2nd try: B-
Micro B +
Macro B
Intro to Stats B -
Cs in other 3 advanced econ courses
My schools emphasized the math and theoretical aspect of courses, so it was a bit of a snowball.
Now, I worked as a business analyst at an F500 CPG out of undergrad, was promoted after 6 months for regression/strategy work to senior BA. After 6 months of that (total 1Y at company) I resigned, did a data science bootcamp and now work as a data scientist at another F500 CPG. Have been there for 1 year. I also teach at the bootcamp, anything from basic coding to the math behind some ML algos. So even though academically my quant skills look bad, it's actually by far my strongest area that I've had to hone for work and through my interests.
Obviously, the GMAT is the best way to remedy this, but only speaking in terms of an alt transcript, I was wondering what you guys thought about which classes I should take? Am trying to maximize all aspects of my future apps. I am applying in the Fall of 2021, so I have time to take courses. So far, over the past year, I have taken through Illinois University the following classes for credit:
Calc 1 A
Calc 2 A -
Calc 3 A
I was thinking about taking a stats course, any thoughts?

Congratulations on righting the ship.
Check with your preferred schools to see if they'll recalculate your GPA with these post grad undergraduate level fix attempts ... or not.
If they won't, deal with what you've got and put your best foot forward. You may want to consider retaining an admissions consultant to help craft your story.
If they will allow an updating of your GPA in this fashion, then I would start with anything that's a C or lower and fix those first.
Recalculate the GPA after each one to see if you need to keep going. Consider keeping going until your GPA is out of the bottom 10% for the school (many / most schools post an 80 / 20 range so you'll know where the top and bottom 10% begin).

Ha! People are getting more and more creative with their usernames it seems... I guess a side effect of having 900K + members - any name is likely already taken 
Sorry to hear about your GPA - it is on the lower side for BSchools. It is less critical for older and more accomplished applicants but schools still see GPA as one of the best indicators of your success in the Business School but many have been able to skirt the issue with a high GMAT Score + Optional Essay explaining your issue in 2 sentences as a matter of fact and why your GPA is much lower vs. what it would have been otherwise. No reason to show regret or state that you will perform better, just state the facts.
You can definitely take some courses to cover calculus but as Regenerate hinted, you won't need calculus in business school really and they won't recalculate your GPA but it will cover holes and gaps. mbaMission had a post about it earlier this year: https://gmatclub.com/forum/alternative- ... 14247.html and it seems they are recommending it. I would only take CALC1 unless you actually have the time and can get an "A" in all those classes. But before you kill yourself and pay a bunch of money for a course, I would perhaps check with an admissions consultant and pay them $250-500 for 2 hours of their time to evaluate your profile and see what makes sense for you to focus on with the time you have on your hands. If you know a current student or alumni who would not mind giving you 2 hours of their time, you can save $500. There is always something you can work on for the application. For some people it may be working on the essays, for others interviews, or GMAT score, or professional accomplishments, or interests and extracurricular elements.
